The United Nations Academic, Scientific and Cultural Group (UNESCO) World Heritage Committee has formally eliminated Abu Mena, the archaeological web site of an early Christian pilgrimage middle, from its Checklist of World Heritage in Hazard, following a choice made throughout its assembly in Paris on Wednesday, July 9.

Abu Mena was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Checklist in 1979 for its significance as a historic Christian pilgrimage web site and early monastic middle. The positioning contains the stays of a church, monasteries, properties, workshops, and public buildings constructed across the tomb of Saint Menas of Alexandria.

UNESCO, with 194 member nations, promotes peace and safety by working collectively globally on training, science, tradition, and communication.
