The Federal Commerce Fee is forcing Amazon at hand over $2.5 billion in complete, with $1.5 billion going to shoppers that have been lured into misleading Prime signups.


FTC makes Amazon pay

On September 25, 2025, Amazon agreed to pay $1 billion in civil penalties and $1.5 billion in client refunds. The settlement was authorised unanimously by the Federal Commerce Fee.
It was filed within the U.S. District Courtroom for the Western District of Washington. As a part of the deal, Amazon has to overtake how clients join and cancel Prime.
