Self-driving automotive chief Waymo has raised $16bn in a funding spherical because it plans for additional world growth of its autonomous automobile service.
This week’s funding put the valuation of Waymo at $126bn and was led by Dragoneer Funding Group, DST International and Sequoia Capital, with extra funding from father or mother firm Alphabet and several other others.
Waymo’s self-driving taxis present round 400,000 journeys every week to customers throughout six metropolitan areas within the US, and the corporate says it has surpassed the 20-million mark for whole lifetime journeys.
