The funding will assist small-scale constructing works, vitality upgrades, well being and security enhancements and extra.

The Authorities has introduced the provision of the Devolved Capital Grant of €41m, to be allotted to 12 universities, 5 smaller faculties and two Institutes of Expertise for 2026/2027. 

The grant will allow the 19 chosen increased training establishments to endure small-scale constructing works, together with vitality effectivity and decarbonisation upgrades, well being and security works, accessing upgrades or refurbishment and tools buy or renewal.

The Atlantic Technological College (ATU) will obtain greater than €4m, whereas Munster Technological College (MTU), South East Technological College (SETU), TU Dublin, Technological College of the Shannon (TUS) and College School Dublin (UCD), will all obtain no less than €3m. 

Dublin Metropolis College (DCU), College School Cork (UCC), College of Limerick (UL) and College of Galway, are all set to obtain greater than €2m. 

Lastly the Dublin Institute for Superior Research (DIAS), Dundalk Institute of Expertise (DKIT), the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Artwork Design and Expertise (IADT), Mary Immaculate School (MIC), Maynooth College (MU), the Nationwide School of Artwork and Design (NCAD), Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) and the Royal Irish Academy (RIA), will all be awarded between €500,000 and just below €2m. 

Commenting on the funding, the Minister for Additional and Larger Schooling, Analysis, Innovation and Science James Lawless, TD, mentioned, “I’m delighted to announce this €41m funding, which is able to assist our increased training establishments ship sustainable, secure and future-ready campuses. These faculties and universities are central to Eire’s innovation and expertise pipeline they usually want amenities that replicate that ambition.

“The supply of this important funding for minor capital works, refurbishment and tools renewal ensures that our increased training establishments can preserve their infrastructure fit-for-purpose and working sustainably. 

“Applicable ranges of upkeep funding ship actual advantages, lowering unplanned downtime, extending asset lifespan and bettering reliability and efficiency, whereas making certain amenities stay up-to-date and aligned with local weather targets.”

In December of final yr, the Irish Authorities printed its five-year €4.55bn funding plan to assist analysis, innovation and post-secondary training. The funding was first introduced in July 2025 as a part of the revised Nationwide Growth plan, with the Division of Additional and Larger Schooling, Analysis, Innovation and Science securing the capital allocation for 2026-2030.
