The brand new hub focuses on software program design for its public security land cell radio portfolio.

US telecoms firm Motorola Options has formally opened its new international R&D centre in Cork metropolis. The centre was initially introduced in 2024 and can home almost 200 workers throughout software program engineering, design, growth, testing, high quality assurance and administration.

The R&D centre in Cork’s Navigation Sq. focuses on software program design for its public security land cell radio (LMR) portfolio.

LMR consists of a push-to-talk two-way communication system between radio transceivers, comparable to walkie-talkies. This method is utilized by public security organisations just like the police or ambulance providers.
