UAE  Dubai is accelerating its push towards changing into a world chief in driverless mobility with two landmark agreements signed by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) with Emaar Properties and Al-Futtaim. The partnerships will rework Dubai Competition Metropolis and Creek Harbour into the emirate’s first Autonomous Transport Zone, serving as testbeds for cutting-edge self-driving applied sciences.

The agreements have been formalised throughout the Dubai World Congress for Self-Driving Transport 2025, within the presence of Mattar Al Tayer, Director Common and Chairman of the Board of Govt Administrators at RTA; Mohamed Alabbar, Founding father of Emaar and Midday and Chairman of Eagle Hills; and Omar Abdullah Al Futtaim, Vice Chairman and CEO of Al-Futtaim Actual Property Group.

The deal was signed by Ahmad Thani Al Matrooshi, Govt Director at Emaar Properties, and Ahmed Hashem Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA’s Public Transport Company.

Dubai’s Good Metropolis Ambitions

Al Tayer described the initiative as a direct reflection of Dubai’s technique to turn out to be the “smartest metropolis on this planet” whereas reinforcing its place as a international testbed for autonomous transport applied sciences.

“The signing of those agreements underscores RTA’s dedication to supporting modern options and adopting the newest worldwide applied sciences that advance sustainable and sensible mobility throughout Dubai,” Al Tayer mentioned.

The Autonomous Transport Zone

Protecting 12 sq. kilometres, the brand new zone will combine a number of modes of futuristic transport, together with:

  • 20 km of devoted roads served by self-driving Robobuses and Roboshuttles
  • 10 km of waterways operated by autonomous Roboboats
  • 3.8 km of pathways enabled for supply robots

Dubai Competition Metropolis, Creek Harbour, and Al Jaddaf will turn out to be the primary operational hubs for robotaxi providers, driverless shuttle buses, autonomous abras, and supply robots.

Towards a Driverless Future

Dubai has set a daring goal for the way forward for its mobility sector: 25 per cent of all journeys within the metropolis to be driverless by 2030. These new partnerships signify one other important step in reaching that purpose whereas cementing Dubai’s repute as a regional and international hub for next-generation transport options.
