XPeng Aridge introduced that its modular flying automotive, referred to as the “Land Plane Service,” has efficiently accomplished excessive cold-weather testing at temperatures as little as –35°C, marking a serious milestone forward of its deliberate 2026 launch.

The third spherical of winter testing started in January 2026 and was carried out at a number of northern China proving grounds, together with the SAIC check website in Heihe, the Bosch check heart in Yakeshi, and Yushu Normal Airport in Changchun. The trials centered on validating the reliability of each the bottom automobile module and the plane module below extreme chilly situations, significantly in energy efficiency, vary stability, and system integration.

Floor Car Module Efficiency

Chilly-Begin Acceleration Powered by a dual-battery 800V extended-range system and a 6×6 drivetrain, the four-ton automobile maintained sturdy output in icy situations. Whereas it accelerates from 0–100 km/h in round 5 seconds below regular temperatures, it remained below 7 seconds on snow and ice.

Chassis Stability on Ice and Snow By way of round ice tracks and snow-handling programs, the automobile demonstrated steady traction and dealing with. With six-wheel grip and real-time clever torque and braking distribution, it achieved lateral acceleration exceeding 0.4g on snow. Rear-wheel steering additional improved agility for the 5.5-meter-long platform.

Break up-Floor Hill Climb Thanks to six×6 traction and slope traction management, the automobile accomplished full-load begins on a 20% split-surface incline (half asphalt, half ice/snow) and achieved easy launches on pure low-grip icy slopes above 10%.

Mild Snow Off-Highway Testing Outfitted with twin mechanical differential locks, 4 digital differential locks, and dual-axle EPB — a uncommon configuration amongst EVs — the automobile maintained stability on 30% low-grip cut up slopes and efficiently recovered from snow entrapment.

Plane Module Efficiency

Low-Temperature Autonomous Flight Testing At –15°C, the plane’s autonomous flight system operated reliably throughout diverse altitude and velocity profiles. Switching between handbook and autonomous modes remained easy, and coordinated turns maintained anticipated consolation ranges.

Energy and Vary Stability in Chilly Climate Utilizing XPeng Aridge’s proprietary 800V high-voltage platform and excessive energy-density flight batteries (over 250Wh/kg), mixed with an clever thermal administration system, the plane confirmed no noticeable vary degradation in excessive chilly and maintained efficiency akin to regular temperatures.

XPeng Aridge acknowledged that the profitable winter validation clears a crucial hurdle forward of its full rollout in 2026.
